A laptop costing less than a grand is hardly going to affect their chances of buying or renting a home. Although, that guy could definitely use a shower.
Not enough information to make an accurate comment. But he looks organised, he’s clean, his clothes aren’t caked with filth, he and his dog look pretty healthy so at the risk of being flamed. It could be a lifestyle choice and he is quite happy.
Did anyone think to ask him what his situation was?
He stared at that computer for endless hours a day, hoping somehow it would help him find a way out of his situation….. People were to afraid to get close to him because of the smell to see what he was writing….. the computer ran out of batteries 12 months ago.
There’s a huge difference between “Working Poor currently without a permanent address” and “Vagrants” and I’m pretty sure this man falls into the latter category.
He’s obviously not had a shower in awhile, doesn’t shave, and while he might not be outright filthy, the presence of plastic bags and containers suggest he’s some sort of drifter. I’d guess he gets food from soup kitchens, scrap metal collection or just begging. That laptop and its neoprene case alone could probably sell for a couple hundred bucks and feed him a couple of months.

Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 9:58 AMAnyone who says there is nothing wrong is highly ignorant. The man is homeless, that is wrong in itself.
