Boxee Getting Vudu Streaming HD Movie Rentals

The D-Link Boxee Box (in addition to Boxee clients for PC and Mac) will offer HD movie rentals when it lands in living rooms in coming weeks, courtesy of a new partnership with Vudu. Vudu’s full HD rentals – 1080p, Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 Surround Sound – cost two bucks a pop for two nights of viewing. Not a bad service to add to Boxee’s arsenal, not bad at all. [Press Release]

Can we assume this will work on the AU released Boxee Box, or are we just going to get YouTube and some broken CNN app?

As Casey say’s I would very much be interested to see if this is going to be available here.
Along with what other local content will be available.
Also, what price they will charge. Somwhow I don’t think it will be $2.

Dream on guys. If we had 1080p 5.1 movies available for $2AUS I would buy a Boxee Box in a heartbeat.

I’m guess we’ll be lucky to get 480p movies for $4.

I heard on one forum that it looks like a green light that well get but won’t get the HDX feature till Q1 next year…! Still if I could hire HDX movies for like $5-$6 it would be easier than renting a bluray disk!. I would still buy re movie on bluray though.!
I think most of the streaming services in re us and uk sent available here because of net, according to the world it’s not up to standards.!.
