Even though the first time we heard (however unofficial) of the presence of a Samsung tablet the TFT screen was mentioned, it was still disappointing to see there wasn’t actually a Super AMOLED in the final product. But why not?
As a Samsung exec told of in a Q&A session at IFA, they chose Super TFT over Super AMOLED (pictured) because “the TFT is a little more optimised than Super AMOLED in terms of power consumption”, also listing price as being a contributing factor too. [OLED-Display]
