The Pepsi-Coke Wars Reach StreetView

If you drive a Pepsi truck to 3800 Rue Ontario, Montreal, it davidcopperfieldly morphs into a Coca-Cola truck. At least, that’s what happens if you do it in Google Street View.

Go to the Google Street View link and click forward to see the Pepsi truck turn into a Coca-Cola truck. [Google Streetview - Thanks Françoise!]

Both pictures were taken at different times for some reason, you can see there is an orange car that also pops up in the bottem right hand corner in the picture with the Coke truck and the cars in front of the camera have dissapeared.

    it’s a different truck.

They probably turned, did that block and when they came back to stitch up the street the coke truck was there.

    very coincidental.

It’s actually from when the car did the 2 different streets that are intersecting; Rue Ontario Est & Avenue Valois.

If you click up and down Avenue Valois then the Coca-Cola truck is visible the whole time (even if you move away from the truck when the page first loads) except for when the Google car is directly on the intersection (where the link above takes you). If you click left and right along Rue Ontario Est then the Pepsi truck is always visible.

As Rue Ontario Est is the more major of the 2 roads, that is the image that is used when at the intersection, even when “travelling” along Avenue Valois.

The first picture you see in the link was actually ze google car travelling north, passing the side-street where the pepsi truck is, when you enter the street with the trucks it’s ze google car travelling on that street, you can tell by watching the people walk forward as you travel north from the original link.

It is really obvious that it was taken at a different time, it’s still a LoLworthy coincidence though :P

i don’t think anyone seriously believes the truck physically changed.

justifying how they’re two different shots at different times is retarded.
