The Original Frozen Margarita Machine

Inspired by a 7-11 Slurpee machine, Mariano Martinez invented the frozen margarita maker using parts from an ice cream machine in 1971. Salute this fine piece of engineering with a frozen concoction of your choice this labour Day.

Sadly, the margarita-makin’ days are over for this particular specimen—the machine is living out the remainder of its days as a historic artifact in the National Museum of American History.

We will never know if it blends. [Smithsonian via Boing Boing]
