Many folks think Android is posed for world domination. It ain’t necessarily so.

Over at Lifehacker, Gus has broken down the figures from analysts Gartner as they relate to projected smartphone sales by 2014. The bad news for Android fans? It might not be you. iPhone aficionados? Don’t get too smug either. Despite being viewed by many as struggling, Gartner still sees Nokia’s Symbian platform having the lion’s share of the market.

Of course, predictions are just predictions and not set in stone, but it’s interesting to see a picture of the future that affords space for multiple smartphone models. Although Windows Phone, according to Gartner, might be in something of a death spiral.
