Octiv Mini Gets Australian Release Date

Inbuilt alarm clock and portable form factor are cool, but it’ll cost Aussies quite a bit more than in the States.

We’ve known about Altec Lansing’s part iPod/iPhone Dock, part travel alarm clock the Octiv Mini for a while now, and today the company announced local availability, with the dock going on sale this month. Pricing was also announced, and there’s a slight sting here. A dock that launched in the US for $US60 has become a dock that somehow costs $99 Australian. $99 for a dock with an inbuilt alarm clock facility via the free Alarm Rock application isn’t terrible value on the face of it, but that’s still a fairly high conversion markup.
