Mark Zuckerberg More Minted Than Steve Jobs

Hours after Forbes reported Zuckerberg overtook Steve Jobs on their Forbes 400 rich list, news escaped that he’s donated $US100 million to New Jersey’s Newark schools. A clever move, considering he made $US4.9 billion in the last year alone.

He’s now said to be worth $US6.9 billion, so that’s a healthy increase in his pocket money. Steve Jobs, on the other hand, supposedly has a $US6.1 billion net worth, most of which is made from his shares in Disney. Zuckerberg is now sitting happily at number 35 on the Forbes 400 tree, and Jobs is on a lower bough at number 42. [Forbes via TechRadar]

Steve Jobs has contributed to million upon millions of headaches across the world with his flawed iPhone 4.

I believe Apple actually CUT their charity donation funding. So why do people continue to support a man who laughs in the face of poverty? Because it says iphone on it. *dissapointed sigh*

I’m not a macboy, but I am tired of people automatically thinking that someone’s ‘goodnoess’ is measured by how much they give to charity.

Charity does not make the world a better place, and in many cases creates a vicious cycle of dependence. By creating amazing products that help people every day to realize their creative aspirations, Steve Jobs has done amazing things for humanity. Ok sure, he’s not feeding the poor, but feeding our minds is just as important.

Sure, he’s made money…but thats only because he’s created value.

Just because its not publicised, doesn’t mean its not happening. Jobs could be donating billions and we wouldn’t know about it. Surely the Apple-haters are the ones that need to get over themselves?
I know I have done my bit for Autralia, but what have you contributed to the world lately?
