Doomsday-Crying Man Tries Suing The Large Hadron Collider

Thought Hawaiians were relaxed types? Not Walter Wagner, who got so worked-up over the implications of the Large Hadron Collider he fought it in court – the US court. Naturally, he was told to pipe down and take it overseas.

Senior District Judge Helen Gillmor, who presided over Wagner’s most recent court case (he first took up the legal battle in 2008), explained to the paranoid man that “the US government enjoys only observer status on the CERN council, and has no control over CERN or its operations. Accordingly, the alleged injury, destruction of the earth, is in no way attributable to the US government’s failure to draft an environmental impact statement.”

According to the documents detailing the court’s decision, Wagner alleged that experiments at the Large Hadron Collider have “potential adverse consequences”. Like destroying the world? [Symmetry Magazine via Discover via Maximum PC]

Bwahahaha, I love this stuff, I really do.
Couldn’t these people put their passion for saving the world into other things like dissarming all the nuclear weapons, or stopping global warming? It’s probably because those goals aren’t as interesting as black holes, time travel and daemons from hell.

We have obtained an astounding self-confession, a ‘leak’ encrypted in the tons of documents CERN produces only for ‘physicists’ experts:

‘My name is Panos Katsas. I work as an experimental physicist for the CASTOR forward calorimeter of CMS and my main area of interest is the study of exotic events in heavy ion collisions, especially the identification of strangelets, which are likely to be produced.’
Never Mind CERN has denied in all suits and press releases any chance to producing strangelets. Since according to the most advanced theoretical research on the subject, from the Shanghai Institute of Higher Physics strangelets would sink the Earth into a 15 kilometers rock.
It is a fact that it has designed a machine, CASTOR, and installed it to detect them.

More of this confession and many other leaked internal documents in which CERN affirms that it will produce strangelets but also advices to deal with ‘the press, maximizing opportunities and minimizing threats’ can be found at http://www.cerntruth.com/?p=125
