As expected, Blockbuster has filed bankruptcy today in the US, after shuttering over 1500 stores in the past year. The remaining 3000 or so stores will stay open – though for how long, who knows. [Bloomberg]
yeah i still use my local blockbuster regularly… but that is because we do not have netflix in australia, and we just recently got movies on demand over xbox live, but horrible internet caps mean you can only watch like 2 HD movies a month before your internet dies… so blockbuster and other physical stores are the only non-illegal option for people in australia… until digital downloads become more common, my local blockbuster is packed on a friday night. cheers all :)
