
Seventy homes’ waste is enough to power this eco-friendly Volkswagen Beetle for a year. Whether you’d want to drive the “Powered by your own waste!”-emblazoned car is another thing entirely, however.
The Bio-Bug (or Dung Beetle, as we here at Gizmodo have dubbed it) is driving the streets of Bristol, England, for the next year, part of a campaign to wisen people up to green issues.
Methane gas is already used in Sweden in place of fuel, with 11,500 cars reportedly running on their natural gases. [BBC via UberGizmo]

This could do incredible things to cut Co2 emissions on our planet if Govts started subsidizing the sale and production of these vehicles. Also im pretty sure they wouldn’t sell a car if it smelled like poo, so the ‘this stinks’ jokes are not funny or applicable. I suggest growing up.

Reuben Brickell, That smells like poo and it is funny, you need to grow down because what is a life without laughter ? it is a sad life. I support you wanting one of these cars, i think it would be positive for bringing alot of joy to people’s lives…..for example “Look its a poo car driven by Reuben Brickell” ahahahha

I believe the more pertinent question is “Who the hell still wants to drive a VW Beetle?” They’re hateful, contemptible things. Running it on excrement is a logical step, though. Crappy fuel for a crappy car!
