I like my Android phones plain and vanilla, stock with no custom layers. Some XDA folks think the same because they’ve rigged a Samsung Galaxy S to ditch Touchwiz for the stock (read: better) Android 2.1 experience.
The camera doesn’t work yet and there’s some other bugs but for the most part, it’s a Samsung Galaxy S running Android the way Google designed it. Which is to mean, it’s lighter, faster and more versatile (not to mention, easier to upgrade to future versions of Android). As Android matures, I hope Touchwiz, Sense, Motoblur, and all that sort of stuff will slowly disappear. [thegadgets.net]

the gui on the galaxy s is not that dissimilar to the vanilla, and swype support would dissapear without the samasung rom and swype is what makes the galaxy s the most awesome phone to ever grace my desk.
