John Mellencamp: Internet Has "Destroyed The Music Business"

Not only has it destroyed the music business, but “it’s going to destroy the movie business” too. Obviously the aging rocker has a new album he’s pimping out (and headlines he’s trying to grab), but the atomic bomb? Really, Mellencamp? [Reuters]

Not only has his music destroyed my ears, but his comments about the internet are going to destroy my brain too.

lol, some people way smarter than you may argue that the internet has “destroyed the world” but it certainly wouldn’t be because of your selfish, superficial reasons…

Destroying the ‘music business’ is the greatest thing to ever happen to music itself. Thank you internet!

What’s he after now? Subsidies for musos’? Rather than acknowledge the music industry now has to compete with broad range of entertainment choices, their solution involves buying off politicians to protect their overpriced product. It is their greedy little extortion racket that’s really dying not music.

Hey John, you don’t sell anymore records because your music is shit, not because of the evil internet. Just like I might pay for maybe 2 movies a year because thats the amount of good ones released the rest I wouldn’t pay for.
Change your business model or STFU and loose money.

“The internet is evil because now people who make music can’t live off royalties of one song for the rest of their lives. Musicians shouldn’t have to work to make money!”

    Boo-fucking-hoo.
