Apple Adds 12-Core Mac Pros To Store

$7000 burning a hole in your pocket? Apple’s 12-core Mac Pros have been added to the store just now. Minimum spec includes two 2.66GHz 6-core Xeon Westmere processors and 1TB of storage.

Minimum specs start at 6GB of memory, an 18x double-layer SuperDrive and ATI Radeon HD 5770 with 1GB GDDR5. The overall design hasn’t changed since the previous incarnation, with the biggest overhaul happening inside the aluminium case – the 45nm Nahalem processors have been ramped up to 32nm Westmere processors.

Order now, and it’ll ship in 7 – 10 business days. [Apple]

While two six core processors is nice, it would be even nicer if they had the 3.33GHz version as an option (and for not too ridiculous a price).

I’d rather build my own machine then pay for apple’s overpriced crap.
