If you were waiting for Virgin Mobile’s iPhone 4 pricing, you should be following them on Twitter, because that’s where they shared the info. Updated.
As you can see from the pic above, they’ve got all three phones available on both Easy Cap and Smart Cap plans at five different values. No idea whether or not there are special inclusions on those plans for the iPhone, but I’m sure we’ll hear more from Virgin later today.
Update: Official details have just been released. The Easy Cap plans include international and unlimited Virgin to Virgin talk and text, while the Smart Caps add on top unlimited text to anyone in Australia, a bigger data allowance and the ability to rollover unused credit. Definitely worth a closer look. [Virgin Member's Lounge]
And here’s a pic of Sir Richard Branson looking excited 4 for your, uh, viewing pleasure.

Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 11:59 AMholy crap thats cheap!
also, can someone explain to me the difference between the plans where, the overall cost over 24 months is exactly the same?
Easy cap 29 + 16GB vs EC 39 + 16GB = same price
same for smart cap 39 vs 49.
is there ANY difference between paying less for the phone and more for the plan if it works out at the same total cost over 24 months?
at anyrate. CHEAP! its like, cheaper than the galaxy S! can’t wait to see what happens when that looses it’s optus exclusivity.

Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 2:21 PMyeah the difference is the $39 plan is a much better deal for the same overall price as the $29 plan… thats provided you were going to get an iphone 4 and not BYO phone.
Certainly strange though.
Oh… nice spot regarding the finger olearymo :)

Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 12:55 PMAm I missing something or does Optus’s $59 plan still look the best?
Josh
Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 1:53 PMTurns out all the Optus stores I called won’t have any available.. you would think they would save some for walk in customers on the day instead of allocating them all for upgrades, they just missed out on so many new customers. I called Virgin and they are only too happy to help me out.

Friday, July 30, 2010 at 9:03 PMLets hope that 3 and T-mobile don’t face the same problems that Apple iOS has caused other UK consumers and their recently reported roaming costs.
It is another setback once again for Apple it will be interesting to see what’s next in the news regarding iPhone issues (antenna, manufacturing and now service charges) and their
Apples steps to refund cases won’t make up for the iPhone 4′s lack of function over form.
It’s a shame to see so many issues with the iPhone 4 after so many people waited for it’s release. What’s more of a shame is that it seems Apple knew about some of these issues already, such as the problem with reception.
But Apple have created such a loyal following that people may just put up with what issues there are for the sake of owning the latest Apple product.
Personally, I’d be happier with an older iPhone – at least then the issues are all ironed out.
However, it’s also interesting to see how much excitement new technologies can bring. New technology and innovation is important for new business, illustrated by entrepreneurship grants and new business competitions like http://www.ukesnc.com.
Guess it’s not all bad!
