Question Of The Day: How Much Are You Willing To Spend On Kinect And Its Games?

So the prices of Kinect games might be pretty high, and it’s not entirely clear whether or not the hardware will come bundled with a game. Just how much are you willing to spend on Microsofts new peripheral?

AU: Prices below are in US dollars. -EH

Between the $210 and $150 options, it would depend on the games replayability. I would do the $210 option if that harmonix dance central was offered!

I would spend zero dollars, not because “Micro$oft sux”, I love my xbox, but because I have absolutely zero interest in playing games by jumping and flailing around my loungeroom.

$200 is the sweet spot I think.

But that would have to be local pricing… if it’s that in US dollars, by the time it gets here we’d be looking at around 275, which is a bit unreasonable.

A once (and still) awesome stand up comedian said “1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9…………none of those are amounts I want to pay.”

And that my friends, was when the number 0 was created.

The Kinect is not easy to use, it’s not accurate.

“While playing the game at a recent Microsoft event, a person walked up to the table on which the television was sitting to pick up a glass. They never walked in front of the TV, staying instead to the side where I didn’t even notice them. But for some reason the Kinect camera apparently spotted them and started tracking their body, forcing my car to the left and making it impossible for me to steer.”

realistically people were more than happy to part with roughly $200Aud to get rock band/guitar hero bundles.
if something like dance central really is as good as it has the potential to be (i have faith in harmonix) then i might seriously consider getting kinect but honestly for me any amount is too much until there is either 1 game i will play to death or a few games that are all really good.
right now i think my money is better spent on rock band 3 pro instruments, as that will get more play time over this (hopefully) Christmas holiday.
with the amount of great games scheduled for release near kinect it needs to be absolutely bloody fantastic to get any hardcore attention
