Google Receives Last Nexus One Shipment

Google just received their last shipment of the Nexus One and once this current stock sells out, it’s officially goodbye to the Google Phone Store and sayanora Nexus One. Even though it wasn’t the most successful Android phone, I still think it’s the best option for people who want the authentic Android experience.

You’ll still technically be able to get it from Vodafone UK or KT in Korea but it won’t be an easy click, click and ship for us US’ers. Sort of sad to see it go. [Google via Android Central]

The Nexus One achieved what Google needed it to achieve, it got all the phone makers to up their game. None of them were making decent Android handset, they were all underpowered with insufficient memory and screens, Google had to show them how it was done. Since the Nexus One every single maker has up’d their games and they now have phones that are arguably better than the Nexus One. Google showed them how it was done.

Exactly right. NExus one set the bar, and a high one at that. Most phones out there now have a higher quality feel to it rather then that plastic crap.

I don’t know why it “wasn’t the most successful Android phone”. I did the shipping hack thing to get one shipped to Australia a week after it was released and have loved it since. It’s a great phone. But srw is right. The best thing it ever did was make other phone makers get off their asses and make better phones. I’ll still have my N1 for a while longer though.
