GelaSkins are made of 3M material and easy to apply and remove. They will run you about $US15 and cover your entire phone – including those fickle antenna spots. As a bonus, purchasing a skin will give you access to matching iPhone wallpapers.
Keep in mind that we haven’t tested out the GelaSkins ourselves yet and that the claim that they’ll reduce reception issues comes from the company behind them. As usual, some scepticism may be necessary. [GelaSkins]

Friday, July 2, 2010 at 4:24 PMWell I don’t think it’s much of a sacrifice. I had one of these on my iPhone 3G for almost 2 years now and it’s been the decision I’ve done in terms of scratch protection so far. It’s really slim and looks great and doesn’t add a massive bulk to your phone like most other solutions and this thing is TOUGH! If you wanted to use a cover in order not to scratch your phone anyway, this is the way to go.

Friday, July 2, 2010 at 4:57 PMWhile I agree that covering a phone for protection is generally a good idea, it does appear to be counter-intuitive for the iPhone 4. One of the major selling factor of the iP4 is its awesome and beautiful glass surfaces. But to protect this surface we have to use something to cover it up.
May as well make it out of cheap plastic and cover it up, won’t be able to tell the difference.

Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 2:58 PMI’ve had various versions of these on my 3G for years, most recently a personalised custom one that costs the same as the regular ones.
Incredibly good for protecting against scratches, and for distinguishing your phone from the seven other iPhones on the boardroom table …
