Add Splinters To Your Fingers With The Bamboo Keyboard And Mouse

Gizmodo AU

When it comes to household furniture, my personal preference is solid wood with a reddish stain to it. When it comes to my keyboard and mouse though, I’m all about the silver and blacks. That’s why I won’t personally be buying the Bamboo keyboard and mouse from Latestbuy any time soon.

The keyboard and mouse combo is worth $100. The keyboard case and mouse are crafted from bamboo, while the keyboard keys are a wood-finished plastic. Both devices work with Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Macs and connect via USB.

I guess there might be some sort of zen satisfaction in using computer peripherals made from bamboo, but I still think I’ll pass.

I don’t think it’s so much a “zen” thing, as it is bamboo being a much more renewable/sustainable resource than the usual timber-producing trees – and in this case, more environmentally sound than plastics.

Personally cant see the appeal, but since they are now sold out, I guess more than a few people can! (assuming they had more than a few units that is)
