Would 10 Free Games Entice You To Buy A PSPgo?

Gizmodo AU

The PSPgo is a pricey little handheld console. Like $450 pricey. But Sony want to persuade you that it’s worth it by giving you 10 “free” games when you purchase the handheld before the end of September.

The promo starts on June 10, but if you happened to have picked up the console after April 1, you’re eligible for the 10 free games as well.

The games included in the promo are:

Assassins Creed: Bloodlines™ (Ubisoft)
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories (Rockstar Games)
Gran Turismo™ (SCE WWS)
James Cameron’s AVATAR™: The Game (Ubisoft)
LittleBigPlanet™ (SCE WWS)
MotorStorm® Arctic Edge (SCE WWS)
NEED FOR SPEED SHIFT (EA)
Pursuit Force™: Extreme Justice (SCE WWS)
2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ (EA)
WipEout® Pure (SCE WWS)

Of course, the games aren’t truly free unless you’re on an unlimited broadband plan, because you’ll have to redeem them via the Playstation Store, and the games are likely to be well over a gig each. But still, with $300 worth of games thrown in for nothing, does this deal inspire you to pick up a PSPgo?

Firstly, the PSPgo can be bought for as little as $369 from GAME:

Second, I sold my PSP-3000, but I am tempted to get it for the 10 free games, as they seem quite decent.

However, I may not be able to afford it. Any idea how long the promotion is going to go for?

For $450 you would want it to be able to make phone calls at least…

Sony needs to admit the PSPgo is a mistake and move on.
The screen is to small, the cost is to much, the features to little. Adults will likely spend a bit more and get an Android/Apple smart phone. kids/their parents are more likely to consider a DS or iPod.

i remember buying a PSP several years ago. I spent a year or so playing it, getting playstation games to work on it and fiddling with mods. I forgot about and its been sitting by my bed unused for longer than I can remember. I don’t understand how they can see a future for this thing. Its a freaking dinosaur.

Seven year old tech, with a new tech price?

    NO!

Everyone’s saving for the next-gen handhelds, the PSPgo should be in the bargain bin.
