Last week we told you that Vodafone were charging calls made to 3 mobiles as if they were Voda to Voda. This morning, VHA confirmed it:
Vodafone Hutchison Australia (VHA) today confirmed that it has recently introduced free calls for some Vodafone postpaid customers dialling 3 mobile customers.
The free calls, identified on customers’ bills as ‘V23’, are not a mistake. The free V23 calls are available to customers who have signed on to a new Vodafone postpaid plan since March 11, 2010. The offer is an extension of the free, unlimited Vodafone-to-Vodafone calls, introduced to customers who signed on to a new Vodafone postpaid cap from March 11, 2010.
Vodafone Hutchison Australia described the surprise move as one of the benefits of the merger between Vodafone and 3.
VHA today confirmed that it is considering a similar offer to allow new and upgrading 3 mobile postpaid customers to call Vodafone customers free of charge.
This is great news for both Voda and 3 customers. Good to see the merger is starting to show some real benefits.

Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at 11:34 AMQuite funny, I work at Vodafone and none of us were ever told about this. Good job management, letting staff find out only if they read Gizmodo.

Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at 11:53 PMM, maybe dont bag the company you work for. Instead promote it, and if you have any issues send them through to your management for a ‘fix’ to be implemented. Also, there could be a good reason they have yet to announce this move, and it was a soft launch of some kind. Try chucking that question in there too.
