The Creators Project put together this video profile of Curt Morgan, a snowboarder turned filmmaker whose team, Brain Farm, uses the world’s most advanced cameras to capture extreme sports as they’ve never been seen before. Think Planet Earth meets snowboarding.
Among the tools in his arsenal: the Cineflex camera, which uses a system originally designed to deploy smart weapons and must be registered with the U.S. government, and the Phantom, a behemoth that shoots 1000fps in full HD. As beautiful as the shots he’s getting are, the reverence with which he talks about these cameras and how much the technology means to him is in some ways just as inspiring. Monday, June 7, 2010 at 11:17 AMDo yourself a favour and watch That’s It That’s All…even if you’re not into snowboarding. That movie made me pick up a board. I’ve watched it more times than I can count and it got me into photography (and a very poor attempt thus far at videography!) before I even knew about Curt and his background.
Don;t worry about it being a metal head’s dream either based on the trailer – it’s full of great tunes as well. Really shames any other snowboarding movies out there and the rest are playing catch up in my opinion. I’m praying they make a sequel and soon :(
Sorry, I’m ranting. T.Rice rules!
