After yesterday’s announcement from Optus that they’re launching the Samsung Galaxy S, Telstra got in touch to let us know that the handset will “join our growing range of Next G Android smartphones. Pricing and availability will be announced a little closer to the launch date.” The Optus exclusivity deal runs for four weeks apparently, so expect to see it land on Telstra any time from August…

Sunday, August 1, 2010 at 11:00 PMThe only additional version of the Galaxy S to be released in Australia will be the Telstra version of the handset, so that it supports the 850MHz band. No other variants of the handset will be released in Australia.
