Power A spent a good deal of time taking what’s best about the Xbox 360 controller – the most natural “traditional” controller – and bringing it to the PS3. It’s called the PS3 Pro Elite, and it’s only $US50. You have your left analogue stick up on the top left and D-Pad down on the bottom. The palm parts extend much lower, and are coated with a grippy, but breathable material, which makes a huge difference when you play games for hours on end.

Oh, and you still get Sixaxis capabilities, so there really is no sacrifice. Plus you get glowing buttons, and true wireless, albeit a third-party wireless that you need a dongle for. The dongle is included.

Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 9:50 AMHere here, I am grateful that I have not had to relearn button configurations since the PS1. When I first fired up my PS3, the controller felt like home.
I guess if it ain’t broke……

Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 4:23 PMreally? I think the 360 controller feels insanely more natural – especially the left thumb stick. It is way more comfortable to play on.

Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 10:26 PMI like the idea but why would anyone /prefer/ the stupidly positioned left analogue? The PS controller has never been ergonomic and the Xbox controller feels great in the hands but the stick is all wrong. Don’t own a 360 but i had to swap and rewire my Xbox controller so i could play doom3 without going nuts. The PS one is fine generally except after an intense japanese boss battle and then its probably time for a break anyway.

It was difficult as all hell to get used to using a N64 controller, but you all (probably) did it.

Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at 3:36 PMSheeple, the whole point of this advertisement was to showcase a remote. The sad truth of the matter is the remote’s basic functions are impeded by the poor design and cheap material. It’s much lighter than an xbox remote, annoyingly so. The button placement doesn’t match that of an xbox remote. The analog sticks are really messed up and have an annoying delay. Overall, unless my remote was defective, this remote is not at all worth the money and frustration. I’m sure power A is not concerned about the actual functionality anyways
