Perth Gets Its Very Own Apple Store

Gizmodo AU

Mount up, West Australians. As of this weekend, you’ll be able to drink some Apple Kool-Aid of your very own, with the iGiant opening its next retail store in Perth.

The store, pictured above by tipster Gekko a couple of weeks ago, will be located at 790 Hay street in Perth and its doors will open at 8am on Saturday morning.

If you live in Perth and have never experienced the crazy that is an Apple Store opening, I’d recommend heading down. Just make sure you keep a hip flask of reality with you at all times.

I might rock up for the opening. I just hope I’m not too tempted by the iPad. It looks so awesome, but I still can’t see a use for it.

Alright Perth people (who aren’t embarrassed to be seen in an Apple store) for many lolz, on opening day, ask if you can buy Microsoft OSX in store and “why is the iPhone is running a rehashed version of Android?”

Huh? There totally used to be an apple store in Perth. In fact I can remember going into 2 different ones (Although each one was around at separate times) adorned in glossy white and apple products.

They were just Apple resellers, not actual Apple stores.

those 2 “Apple” stores in the city with all the shiny white & stuff were DigiLife, who were resellers, not Apple Retail stores… same as most “Apple” stores in Australia… Sydney had the only Retail store until now…

Oh fair enough. Not much into Apple stuff and was just confused as those stores seemed to sell barely anything except Apple products, so in my mind I figured they must’ve been Apple stores.

I am always surprised how full the Melbourne Apple store (at Doncaster) is, its insane. And they have so much staff it’s crazy.

I mean can that many people be buying macs all the time? Especially seeing any accessory that you need you totally should buy off ebay or another reatailer. I brought a mini-display to VGA adapter off eBay for $7 and at the mac store it was $49.

But I suppose they do have good helpful staff.

This will be great, now we’ll be able to get a quote for an apple PC or laptop and take it to JB Hifi were they will knock a couple of hundred bucks off. Not that they don’t already do this, but just saying… JB Hifi will still be the cheapest place to buy a Mac from.
