Considering that microSDHC cards top out at 32GB; maybe Apple decided to include only a single 32GB NAND ram chip to save on internal space.
I’m sure they went with micro-sims specifically to save internal space. Especially since the iPhone 4 is thinner than the iPhone 3GS.

Early adopters will buy it on release even though its only 32gb current max memory… and unsurprisingly they will buy the same phone again in 6 months when the new and improved 64gb and 128gb models are released with the added bonus of inbuilt makeup mirror and frown detection (no they havent announced these memory sizes, just a guess).
