Weekend Gadgets: 15-Inch MBP, Alan Wake And Red Dead Redemption*

Gizmodo AU

It’s been a little while since my last weekend gadgets, but there are a couple of things that will be keeping me very busy this weekend, like the Core i7 15-inch MacBook Pro Apple sent me to play around with.

The timing couldn’t be more perfect – Steam launched on Macs yesterday and Apple sent me a Core i7 MacBook Pro the same day. Coincidence? I think not.

I also need to spend a bit of time playing Alan Wake. I sat down with the MD of Remedy, the game’s developer a couple of weeks ago and am working on getting that up next week, but I can happily say that two episodes in, I’m truly hooked (and at times a little freaked out).

But I need to try and finish Alan Wake because next week sees the launch of Red Dead Redemption, and I’m pumped for this game. I reckon I’ve watched the final trailer at least half a dozen times today. And I’ll probably watch it a few more times over the weekend on the shiny MacBook Pro too. Here, watch it for yourself:

What gadget related activities have you got planned for the weekend?

Apple are always pretty prompt at collecting their gear once a review period ends. Worth a shot though :)

So I’m not the only one who has been feverishly devouring these videos and trailers Rockstar have been releasing. Thank god.

I think you’re lucky in the fact you’ve got Alan Wake early Nick. I’m buying both on release, but forcing myself to play Alan Wake first as I tend to lose track of gaming time in big open world games. I don’t want to neglect what should be a terrific game.
