Macs now have Steam and we’re mostly happy. But what about Linux users? It seems that they’ll have to wait a bit longer, but “Steam content delivery platform and Source Engine are coming to Linux.” [Phoronix]

no denying that windows is of higher quality than linux, user friendliness and performance – specially games with directx – but most people won’t care.

Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 10:43 PMThe quality of the major Linux distros is quite high and easily compares to Windows. User friendliness, I agree that Linux has some catching up to do but Ubuntu is closing the gap pretty fast.
But performance, Linux can actually do lots of things a whole load faster than Windows can. If most games weren’t as dependent on DirectX, then Linux could have some pretty comparable performance.
I’ve recently switched to Ubuntu, only thing I’m missing is AE and other video editing stuff.
