This Uniden pico projector costs a grand. It projects images up to 100 inches diagonal, weighs just 122 grams and can project for almost two hours. Oh, and it has lasers, which is probably why it costs more than some 40-inch TVs.
The laser technology apparently allows the projector to always project a focussed image, even on curved surfaces. It comes with a VGA adapter that will connect to your PC for those exciting powerpoint presentation everybody loves so much. But considering the device only projects at WVGA (848×480 resolution), it just seems pricey – surely having to manually focus isn’t worth that much money?

Friday, May 21, 2010 at 11:56 AMPrice is in the right range for a business projector. Resolution is kinda low, but if you want a projector you can slip into a pocket and wave around in your hand, or if you’re looking for an unobtrusive way to splash your promotional video on a curved surface in a shopping mall, it fits the bill exactly.

Friday, May 21, 2010 at 4:07 PMWow, Is this the smallest projector on the market? Are there smaller ones in the making? Can we have cheaper non-lazer versions? USB in the side? Questions?

Friday, May 21, 2010 at 9:31 PMWow, really glad to see these hit the market. If anything like the one I saw at CES, the colour richness makes this the best for anything video or colourful in any way. I assume this is the Microvision display engine? (“PicoP” is their mark)

Monday, June 28, 2010 at 3:42 PMYes, Uniden uses Microvision’s laser display engine – as seen at CES. This is what sets it apart from other less-expensive LED projectors. You can find out more here: http://bit.ly/bQ8Nyc

Sunday, June 6, 2010 at 3:03 PMThis is pretty expensive compared with the 3M Mpro 150 (http://www.picoprojectornews.com/pico-projector/3m-mpro150-pico-projector-breaks-cover-in-uk-97/) and Aiptek V20 (http://www.picoprojectornews.com/pico-projector/aiptek-v20-mobile-pico-projector-66/) pico projectors.
Id the price can be brought down a bit they will have no problem selling these.
