Just in case you were wondering, TiVo have confirmed that their DVR will record the new trial 3D TV channel that’s showing the State of Origin tonight and certain World Cup matches in a few weeks.
One of the potential benefits of this is being able to record the 3D broadcast now, even if you don’t have a 3DTV set, and playing it back in 3D whenever you pick up a new 3D capable TV. You know, for watching [Insert team name here]win over and over again, except in 3D.
In addition, TiVo are promising 3D VOD content to arrive to the box from next month:
Initially content will include movie trailers and short animations, but it will grow to include movies and documentaries shot in 3D.
