Unmetered VOD content is the way of the future, and according to Andrew Colley at the Australian, the best VOD service in Australia at the moment is in discussions with Telstra to get iView unmetered on Telstra’s upcoming T-Box PVR.
There’s nothing to be announced yet, but ABC multi-platform chief Arul Baskaran confirmed that they were in discussions with Telstra, as well as Fetch TV for offering unmetered iView.
The ABC’s policy has always been to get their content on as many platforms as possible, and winning over Telstra would be a huge boon to iView. Especially if they manage to persuade Telstra to offer it to all their BigPond customers, not just T-Box users.

Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at 1:47 PMUntil they can stream content in at least SD 720×576 quality I’m not interested. ABC’s iView is a great feature to have, but streaming low res video to my 50″ plasma is of no interest.

Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 9:29 PMI have been on Telstra Cable for around 7 years now and would love to have iView unmetered. Many a program we miss and are able to catch up with on iView. The kids would definitely get the benefit too if ABC3 was offered along with ABC1 and 2.
P.S. Simon, sounds like you have a bigger one than me.

Monday, May 30, 2011 at 4:00 PMIt’s been over a year since this article was published, and still no sign of ABC iView on the T-Box. iView on the T-Box would be a killer feature.
