Holding a phone up and talking at it and seeing the other person talking back is a neat trick, sure, but I can’t imagine I’ll use it much after trying it out a couple times. I mean, I barely talk on the phone normally anymore, instead relying on texts, emails and IMs to get messages to people. So a more convoluted way to make phone calls? Yeah, I’m not that interested. This seems like something they’re offering because they can, not because it actually provides any real benefits.
How about you?

Friday, May 28, 2010 at 10:08 AMI like the idea of being able to see facial expressions while having a conversation with someone, as opposed to just a voice on the other end of the line.

Friday, May 28, 2010 at 10:18 AMI’ve had the ability to do this for at least two years with my Nokia N70 and my Nokia N95…..
I’ve only used a few times though haha

Friday, May 28, 2010 at 11:53 AMI’ve used it before to call my family on the rare occasion, as they live on the other side of the city.
The main problem that has stopped people from taking up video usage is that it often fails to work, whether to someone on the same carrier or (especially) on a different carrier.

Friday, May 28, 2010 at 1:00 PMThe US are behind on video calling technology!
We’ve had that since “3″ first started business in Australia

Friday, May 28, 2010 at 1:14 PMI’m a three customer, have had this feature for over 6 years now. I could count on one hand the number of times I’ve used it.
It’s kinda cool for about 10 seconds and then the novelty dissipates quick.

Friday, May 28, 2010 at 1:25 PMI think anyone that’s actually tried video-chat will agree: it sucks.
It’s just awkard, combining the worst parts of phone caht with in-person chat.

Friday, May 28, 2010 at 4:28 PMI 2nd Dion’s comment, had it since 3 launched in Aus and have only used it a handful of times. Question is why has it taken so long for “smart” phone to have this feature?

Friday, May 28, 2010 at 4:29 PMgoing on 9 years we have had this in Australia, This has really shown me how far the U.S are behind the world with their tech.

Friday, May 28, 2010 at 5:22 PMIts a useless feature. The idea of using it because you want to video conference with someone due to distance is negligible. Use skype on your computer.
