That Lost finale sure was divisive! Some people loved it, others hated it and then there’s a big chunk of people who want the internet to shut the hell up about it. Can’t help you there, angry non-Losties!
Personally, I’m pretty ambivalent about it. By the time we were nearing the end of this last season it was obvious they were leaving all sorts of questions unanswered, and I accepted that. And I found myself emotionally involved in the finale itself as I was watching it. But still, I wish the finale had wrapped up the whole series rather than just the season 6 sideways timeline. I think I’m more annoyed that they wasted half the last season on that temple that ended up amounting to nothing than I am about the finale itself.
How about you?

It was nice and all, I did enjoy the closure for these characters, but too many loose ends go nowhere. I think if you try to watch from the start now to pick up clues etc. it will expose some gaping holes.

Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 1:18 PMThe finale was extremely weak. Over the last six of seven episodes I was having a feeling that they were really going to screw this up, because they weren’t really explaining anything and were randomly killing off people so that their resolution didn’t need to be explained. The numbers, the Dharma initiative, Charles Widmore, the true motives of Ben, these are just a sample of things that the show didn’t bother with in the end.
I wish the atomb bomb at the end of season five was the end of the show – season six was a rushed joke. I hated the end of Battlestar Gallactica too but it’s ending was better than Lost.
