If you forgot to pre-order your iPad nice and early before the shipping date got pushed back, there’s still hope that you can grab a device on Friday on launch day. Apple have confirmed to us that their Apple Stores will be selling iPads on Friday. Anyone planning on queuing up overnight?
UPDATE: For those who asked – Apple Stores will be operating normal business hours on Friday – no midnight launches for the Apple faithful. There still may be a queue though…[Apple]

Monday, May 24, 2010 at 1:44 PMI can’t believe people are going to buy this device without even playing with it first. Those preorderers and queue sitters are nuts.

Monday, May 24, 2010 at 4:27 PMPeople with friends who have ordered them from overseas and developers (I for one fill both those categories). Mind you, a lot of those friends are developers too

Monday, May 24, 2010 at 1:46 PMDoes anyone know our options (if any) in Perth to grab one on launch day?

Monday, May 24, 2010 at 1:59 PMI really wonder how many each store will have considering the lengthy wait to preorder them. With six models you would be crossing your fingers you get a good place in line, or maybe they will get hold of a heap. I bet in a week or so they will announce 2 million sold world wide. The delivery wait time is 20 odd days in the US now. For each person that’s not interested there are 10 more waiting to snap them up.
I’m looking forward to some Au coverage of first day store sales Giz really want to know how long they can last till their sold out.

Monday, May 24, 2010 at 2:15 PMOf course, still no word on stores over here in the West. We don’t have any Apple retail stores. I’ve been contacting premium resellers (Next Byte & MacWorx) and they still aren’t sure when they’re getting them.

Monday, May 24, 2010 at 3:29 PMGrant, playing with a gadget before you buy it totally kills the surprise. Would you read about the ending of LOST before watching the finale?
Plus, imagine if I was stuck in the Mac store testing page-loading speed (well i cant test multi-tasking) while the other fanboys were already home flicking through all the iphone apps they bought on their iPhones – but could now see in a bigger size!

Monday, May 24, 2010 at 4:22 PMAny idea if it’s just going to be official Apple retails stores that have them on Friday, or will the certified premium resellers (or whatever they’re called) have them too? Like NextByte?
D Mark
Monday, May 24, 2010 at 10:05 PMThere are several online stores claiming to already have them in stock for slightly higher than retail prices. Is one to believe they already have imported them, and if so, does anyone know of any problems with buying them other than Apple not providing any support at this stage?
From what several resellers, including NextByte and JB, none of them now when they are going to sell them and i can see the Apple Retail stores selling out very quickly :-(

Monday, May 24, 2010 at 7:38 PMI heard from a friend who works at the Chermside store will have 1000 units, 100 of each model and 300 of the two basic (3G and non-3G 16GB) so no need to line up anywhere, just go over at lunch time.
50,000 units coming in to Australia on or before Jun 2, most of which are already here at the stores.
