iView uses Flash. The iPad doesn’t support Flash. It would seem that iView fans wanting to watch VOD on their new iPad have hit a wall. Not so, as Gus over at Lifehacker has pointed out – the ABC has confirmed it’s working on a solution for VOD-hungry Apple tablet fans…
Rather than pursuing an HTML5 version of iView and allowing the VOD service to work as a web app, the ABC is currently developing a native iPad app for iView.
And according to the iView support forum, they’re also working on an iPhone app, although this is a bit harder thanks to the fact that the iPhone and iPod Touch don’t support the same video compression options as the iPad.
