Intel’s Core i7-980X Extreme Edition is six-cored, 12-threaded, and starting to show up in a lot of gaming rigs by some popular builders:

- Digital Storm
- CyberPower
- Maingear
This is definitely only the first wave of rigs powered by this chip, so there’s no need to rush out and shop just yet, but we’re definitely excited to see some of these systems. [Engadget]
