Apple Now Owns “iPad” Entirely

Maybe Steve Jobs had coffee with Fujitsu’s CEO too: They’ve given the “iPad” trademark to Apple. After the iPad event, making the name official, a confused Fujitsu claimed the name “iPad” was still very much theirs. Not anymore.

We’re not sure what kind of deal the two companies struck – money, patents, licences, who knows – but the public record says what matters: iPad belongs entirely to Apple. A bit different than iPhone, which Apple shared with Cisco after a similar brouhaha-ha. [USPTO via Patent Authority]
