HTC HD2 Coming Soon To NextG

Gizmodo AU

Not sure about specific details yet, but just received an invite to the launch of the HTC HD2 Winmo handset. Hosting the event are Peter Jamieson and Ross Fielding from Telstra, alongside HTC’s Anthony Petts, which kind of screams out that the phone will launch on Next G.

The event itself is next Tuesday, and I’ll be there, so if you’re obligated to use winmo, stay tuned for details.

    Telstra Exclusive, check out http://www.telstra.com.au/mobile/phones/phone_details.cfm?phone=HD2

Looks like they screwed around with the software again.

Is the time in that pic just a coincidence, or is it a sly marketing technique to sell the phone?

Biggest mistake was putting it on telstra… their expensive plans will sell about 2 phones in the whole of australia…

Nice spotting Andrew, I’m going with sly marketing technique… now to find a Nexus One importer for Australia.

Windows mobile has been long dead. Shame to waste such nice hardware on such a failed mobile platform.

More importantly, what about the Nexus One? Surely that is more relevant for HTC right now.

    nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Not on Telstra, and please not exclusive!

They must be moding the unit for Telstra as the Europe and Asia models only have 900/2100Mhz HSPA, doesn’t Telstra require 850?

I already have one of these that I imported from the UK. It was AU$840 all up (including postage). I’m willing to bet Telstra will charge upwards of $1200 for it.

I imported mine from UK for about $850 all up about 2 Moths ago, but I think there even cheaper now. I hate to think what Telstra will charge for one!

I believe the phone is looking to sell at around 920-980 AUD and on a Telstra $80 plan.

Yes phone will be modded, and yes it does include customer firmware to brand with Telstra

    Gday,

Really disappointed that yet again Telstra got the so-called EXCLUSIVE on this device….aarrrggghhhh…. Sorry, cudnt help that…

This device is without doubt the best handset on the market (in my opion), but not sure what they were thinking with the winmo 6.5…

If HTC listened to the consumer, and gave this device the uber sexy ANDROID OS, then this would blow the rest of the market apart… even the bloody iphone… hehehe…(yes i own one)..lol..

We all need a change, and i think its time the iphone left our shores, and headed for a small deserted island to live out its days as a coffee table or something….

BRING ON THE HTC HD2 ANDROID..!!!

    LONG LIVE ANDROID..!!
