On the back of last week’s attempt to try and promote a better Giz AU for everybody, today we’re launching the “Comment of the Week award”. Which means you can win stuff!
Each Monday, we’ll be trawling through the comments and selecting the best of the best as our comment of the week. We’re looking for comments that add to the post – improving the quality of the site through adding valuable insight, opinion or humour to our stuff.
Of course, you guys should be doing that already, but to make the deal even sweeter, we’re going to give the comment of the week a prize. This week’s prize is a double pass to go and see The Treasure Hunter, one of the latest (and greatest, I’m told) films out of Asia*.
You’ll also have the honour of being singled out and praised by Giz AU. Which is what you really want, isn’t it? So go on – start commenting well… now!
[T&Cs]
* Unfortunately the movie is only being shown at cinemas in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Future prizes won’t have that kind of restriction though…

But seriously, good idea. I often find the GizAU comments a bit thin on the ground, and while that’s probably good from a quality stand point, seeing a few more GOOD comments will certainly add to the site.
Oh, and I’m in Adelaide, so not gunning for a prize on this one :)

Monday, January 11, 2010 at 4:05 PMNice – I think I have seen a decline in give-aways on gizmodo recently.
Great idea and great campaign!
It’s things like this that separate great sites from good sites; super phones from smart phones o_O

Monday, January 11, 2010 at 4:29 PMGreat idea, but as Travis Young said, comments on GizAU are few and far between.
Hopefully prizes will help encourage more comments that are well thought out as well.

Monday, January 11, 2010 at 10:25 PMVisually the film looks awesome, Asian cinema always has exciting fight sequences that keep you on the edge of seat, but its biggest issue looks like its disjointed storyline.
