This is pretty cool – so long as you enjoy tennis, I guess. Channel 7 is using Windows 7′s Snap feature to show two video streams side by side during the telecast of the Australian Open.
It’s pretty heavily branded, as you can see from the clip above, but it’s still a pretty cool commercial use of a function that wouldn’t be used for much more than comparing spreadsheets for most people.

As someone who works in media, all it is, is advertising using a split screen. No windows 7 involved at all.

I agree with Kalem. It’s split screen. It isn’t a big deal it’s been done in TV land for yonks.

Hah, wow! What an unsatisfying way to watch tennis. I had *absolutely no clue* what was going on!
Where were they placing their shots? Who knows!

Other than the new homegroups, it’s my most used new windows 7 feature.

Kalem, I think the point is more about what an effective way of advertising it is. They’re not trying to make a point about a revolutionary new way of broadcasting.
I love the snap feature in windows 7, and i despise having to use windows vista computers (such as my work laptop) which don’t have it.
