We’ve been waiting for an Australian announcement for the Xbox 360 Wireless N adaptor, and Microsoft have obliged: Launching on November 26, the adaptor will be available for $150.
That’s a fucking absurd number. You could almost wire your house with Ethernet cable for that amount. In fact, I’ll probably do that rather than pay $150.
Don’t get me wrong – I love my Xbox… It still hasn’t red ringed, and there are some great games out now and on the way. But $150 for wireless – that should be included with the hardware – is just absurd… Although it always has been – the current G adaptor costs the same amount…

I got an electrician to connect up the lounge and games room to the study where my router and pc are for $80 each including cable and the wall point hardware. Money well spent as it enabled me to avoid buying a HDD Recorder as I use my PC with a dual HD Tuner in the study as a media centre and the XBOX extender.
The only people who should be attracted to this are those who rent which makes it a bit of a problem doing the cabling.

If you had an existing wireless n network, wouldn’t it be cheaper to buy something like an 802.11n airport express (about $100), then hook it up to via ethernet? That’s what I do with my PS3 and it works a treat.

What strikes me as very odd, is that both on the Nintendo Wii and DS (albeit slow), you have the ability to browse the web. Both have wireless inbuilt no extra hardware required. But my huge, power guzzling, hulk of hardware 360 that can play the latest games can’t do either out of the box. WTF

with the wii they added lots of features to distract you from the fact that its a game cube in pretty cloths, same with the dsi. xbox has a MUCH more substantial base, and a price thats lower than the wii.

Failbox, thats why.
You didnt compare that bulking piece of crap to the available options at the time of purchase?
I have one of those bulking pieces of crap, and it does a realy good job of warming up my shelves during winter.
