The Epic HDTV Buyer’s Guide Flowchart

Not sure what HDTV you should buy this Christmas? Thank god we have flowcharts to make the process easier.

Actually, I’m not sure if this flowchart makes anything easier. In the end it might just make fun of you and bring you back to square one. Still, there is some useful information in there if you are willing to go on the journey.

Make sure to click on the image to see the full size chart. [Gliffy]

    This actually is sad that this has been made. Just do your research , know your product and make an informed purchase … wow .. didn’t need a “flow chart” to make that hard decision did we now?

    hmm, he seems to think that every advancement made to any of the technologies make no real difference and are just a marketing ploy.

    this is clearly a joke made by someone who doesn’t really care.
    its ‘relatively’ easy:

    do you want a new TV? ->
    Yes, of course you do! ->
    budget? ->
    what ever someone who has some sort of financial sense in your relationship says it is (this will probably be $0 unless you need a new TV) ->
    size? ->
    around 46″ is the sweat spot if your serious (into games and/or movies), just use it to watch the news? and tv shows? go to the store, stand as far back as it will be at home, pick the smallest one thats appropriate, also, consider whether it will fit in your existing entertainment unit. DO NOT base the size you need on how it looks in the store, they look smaller in the store next to the million inch ones, than they will look at home. ->

    plasma / LCD, back lighting, refresh rate , brand, res, ect ->
    GO TO THE STORE, PICK THE ONE THAT LOOKS THE BEST TO YOU! if you do that, none of the above words matter. but make sure you check it out with all the material you are interested in. HD, Games, SD. TVs are better at some and worse at others. also try to check it out in conditions similar to how it will be at home.
