The Cell Processor Is Going Extinct

IBM’s shit-canning the Cell processor line – you know, the chip that’s in the PS3 and uh, Toshiba laptops and TVsaccording to their VP of Deep Computing, making the current PowerXCell 8i the last of its ilk.

    does this mean sony will have to make their own processor for PS4?

    doesn’t make much sense, the PS3′s are just starting to compete with the Wii and 360. Maybe its just a rebadge.

    haha this is a massive fail on sony’s part.

    No matter what anyone says about the xbox 360 now, at least we have a processor that won’t last half the age of the console
