Potential Fix Available For Banned Xbox 360 Users

12:52PM November 14, 2009 | Rosa Golijan

The millions of Xbox Live players who were banned because of their modded Xbox 360 consoles may get a second chance with some firmware workarounds. Beware though, it’s a complicated process.

First you’ll need to get iXtreme LT, which’ll attempt to return your console to a playable state. The catch is that you need to know your CPU code and that the instructions rely on a lot of different (free) tools.

Has anyone used this or another workaround to get their Xbox playing again? [DailyTech via Crunchgear]

Aren’t they still going to have to sign up for a new Xbox live account? Though I’m sure that’s a small price compared to buying a whole new system.

Just to clarify, this fix has been available since last years ban wave, though it requires some equipment to write to the NAND and the CPU key from an unbanned console, which is then written to the banned one, defeating the purpose as you could juust use the unbanned console to play on Live, also two unique CPU keys online at the same time isnt a good idea.. just sayin…
