Not exactly sure when the two phones will be hitting shelves, or which networks they’ll be on yet, but HTC sent me an invite yesterday to the launch of the Hero and the Tattoo Android phones next Wednesday, November 18. Considering it’s been four months since I had a preview of the Hero, it’s good to know that the handset will actually be here before the year’s out.

Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 4:42 PMAbout bloody time. I was starting to wonder if we would ever see the Hero here in Australia. I went looking the other day at what was out and android based and all i saw was the magic and G1… we get so screwed here. Where is the droid, or any other new handsets. Any idea why we don’t see half the models the U.S. is currently getting?

Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 8:49 PMThe people that wanted a Hero already got them off ebay months ago. Who in their right mind would pay overinflated Australian pricing?

Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 10:20 PMI bought a Hero off eBay a couple of months ago. It’s not perfect, but it most definitely is awesome. Highly recommended.

Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 8:45 AM..because I’m under contract with my last handset with 12 months left. Tech is moving fast, and gadget heads like me need to upgrade every 12 months… therefore every second phone goes on contract.
I played with a collegues Hero and it was much better than my HTC Dream, so I just wanted to upgrade there and then.
I got a black Hero from HK (aus ebay) for around $600 delivered!
