How Should TV Over Bittorrent Make Money?

Most of us, at some point or other, for some reason or other, have downloaded a TV show over Bittorrent. Some of us now only watch TV via shows that we’ve downloaded. And while the convenience is pretty sweet now, if things continue the way they’re going, there’s a real question over how the TV shows we all enjoy watching for free on the internet will be funded. Gus over at Lifehacker has a great post looking at the different options for the TV networks that’s definitely worth a read. Check it out.

Well if there was a premium legal network i could download from unmetered for so many shows id probably pay a subscription to that. say 15-25 for a season of a show or soemthing? But i dont want any DRM, and it must be in a nice codec like an XviD AVI or Matroska.

    • Exactly. I’d gladly pay if the networks could provide a service at least on-par with the pirates.

That’s high-quality rips, in non-DRM format, one hour after it airs for the first time in the USA.

Two years on from it’s demise and the music studios still haven’t provided a legal product that anywhere near matches the selection, speed and quality that was available on oink, I sincerely doubt movie/tv studios are going to be any more active than music labels.

Must be provided in an “open” style platform, so I can choose the hardware and software I want to use to view with.

I’d hate to see the day when you must run “channel 7″’s box, “channel 9″’s box, etc…

The system needs to be easily available and simple for people to use, as simple as changing channels for the most part.

I would MUCH prefer to see a on-demand solution and I think the bit torrent idea is a valid one.

    Quality, availability and affordability.
