The latest adventure for the Google Street View car comes to us from the Netherlands, where it witnessed a fire truck mow down an innocent old lady on a bike.
Yeah, it looks like the fire truck just continued down the street like nothing happened. Look at her, in the classic “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up” pose. Poor thing. Fortunately for the bike lady, Google did what fire fighters are supposed to do — come to the rescue. [Jalopnik]

Sure she didn’t fall over from the sight of the Google Streetview vehicle? Look where she is in the first picture and how far to the right the firetruck is. She hasn’t really moved any further forward in the pic where she’s on the ground.

I would also expect if the firetruck hit her for her front wheel to be either rooted quite severely or at least twisted. It’s neither.

Staged or fake, if you were hit buy a firetruck you would be pretty injured, probably not with the bike between your legs and wouldn’t the front wheel be messed up?? Also if you go down the road on the street view you can see her on the sidewalk looking all fine and the bike perfect…

I have a different theory. If you notice nearly all the new streetview photos from holland, all the people are looking directly at the streetview 360 cam, in some photos they even stop to have a good look and even pose. The old lady ‘might’ stopped to let the firetruck go past, then turned to see the Google car, knew what it was and didn’t want to be in the picture and in a panic tried to turn her bike which lead to the above consequences.
