Awkward Microsoft Store Dances Are Why I Shop Online

These staffers at the Microsoft Store in Mission Viejo, CA might seem really excited, but the clearly rehearsed dance routine comes across more like some kind of Stockholm syndrome.
I’ve heard the Microsoft Store pays well and all, but seriously, what a dick move for making employees do this. That’s what Disney World and Cruise Lines are for. [YouTube via Engadget]
Has anyone else noticed how overweight the Microsoft store employees are too? I think Apple, just quietly, may have favoured less overweight people in their recruiting.
What a great opportunity to pick up some microsoft products for free! Just wait until they break into dance and fill your bag when their backs are turned, then walk out the door when their backs are turned to it. Brilliant! Who said microsoft wasn’t value-for-money?
This is hilarious – Hilariously stupid! Can’t MS get anything right? The staff look so unenthusiastic the customers aren’t even slightly interested/distracted. The dance is too long, repetitive and they still make mistakes! I’d be pissed if I was a customer wanting service and had to wait for this crap to finish!
You know.. there’s a pulse to consumerism. The general consensus is that its a good idea to put your FINGER TO IT ONCE IN A WHILE. Stop trying to ape apple’s dying image and try to invent a little elegance. God if I had walked into that store to check out what it was like and people started randomly dancing, my urge to understand MS products better would be replaced by an urge to smack whichever idiot was grinning the widest, and never return to the store. Its like a lame counterfeit of ‘improv everywhere’ in reverse, where workers alienate consumers rather than the opposite. How could any idiot envisage that having a positive effect on customers?
The used to be a chain of retro style Americana ‘burger joints’ called Johnny Rockets where the staff would suddenly stop and do a dance routine. Used to be.

It would be more interesting if they didn’t just repeat the same moves over and over…and over…and over again. For nearly five minutes!
