Using Power Lines As A Bridge Seems Incredibly Dangerous

During Typhoon Ketsana in the Philippines last week, residents had to figure out creative ways to stay dry and get around. There are about a dozen reasons this seems like a bad idea, however. [Big Picture]
It’s totally conceivable that by that stage the powerlines were already down elsewhere, making them safe to climb on.
I suppose it would’ve seemed better than drowning at the time.

While not the smartest thing anyone could do, the power lines look to be on the upper levels of the poles. (see upper right corner of that pic)
The cables they’re using to get across seem to be more of the Internet/Phone cable variety…
