It must be cold down in Hell at the moment, because Telstra CEO David Thodey has just admitted that their broadband pricing is “out of line”. Even better, they’re planning aggressive price cuts.
The Telco has also promised to spend a little bit more time focusing on improving customer service.
There’s no word on how soon we can expect to see these price cuts, or whether they’ll track over to the wholesale internet side of things, but any price cut’s going to be welcome for Telstra customers…

As I live in a regional area where the only pstn choice is Telstra (although less than an hour from Melbourne), I just received my Telstra bill.
Report PermalinkWe normally use VOIP, but sometimes when the power goes out, the only way to make calls is by using the Telstra line.
One such call on the Telstra bill was for a 32 minutes call to Europe for a total of $22.
That makes it 220 times more expensive than the VOIP rate (10c/untimed).

At first I thought i was getting a great deal with telstra. But the sales staff just say yes to anything! i asked do you charge on uploads? “no you will get 25gig download” okies no worries… also giving me miss leading quotes… and couldnt even keep their quote! come on teltra! wake up. and when i go to speak to a staff member about this miss leading quote “well you are not tied in yet so you can just change your plan if it doesn’t suite your budget” ok after about a couple of months being with them i just find out now that uploads are counted! into the total amount! look if you are going to charge me for this you should make it clear!!!!!!!! sick of everything being not clear!!!! If i didnt have telstra hard ware at my exchange i wouldn’t be with telstra. well next time i am reading every god damn fine print. stupid me or stupid telstra? or stupid for me being with telstra… about 50% nice people on customer service… can blame them all…
